Final Cut Sound Video - Beach

Rough Cut Sketch #3

Production Strategy

I have chosen the coastline of Lake Michigan. I will capture the beach and the rocky shoreline. My main objective is to capture the motion of the lake and the motion of the rocks. Then I will compare and contrast the two. How I will do this is by shooting different angles of the waves hitting the shore and I will be capturing the rocky shoreline while walking along it. If there are any rocks floating in the water I will also capture them to. If I could capture a seagull flying around that would be great. I could then contrast its motion with the lake's motion. Also, I could try and capture ducks or seagulls floating in the ocean and contrast their paths with the paths of the lake. It tends to be very windy by the beach so I intend to use my body as a shield in order to capture more clear audio.

Ten Questions

1. Is there one certain place where all the seagulls and ducks reside?
2. Are there any rock paths that lead farther out into the lake?
3. Is there anything out on the lake worth filming or taking pictures of?
4. Are there any other types of animals along the beach?
5. From what angle would I be able to best capture the waves of the lake?
6. Are there different types of rocks alongside the beach?
7. Do some rocks make different sounds then others?
8. Do waves have different tones or pitches?
9. Does sand make an interesting sound?
10. Are certain parts of the coast cleaner than others?

Trek Assessment #4

Best Experience:

1. Overall, my best experience throughout all three treks would have to be filming and taking pictures of the Lake Park playground. When I went there happened to be no one there and I had the whole playground to myself. It brought me back to my childhood. I would ride down the slides and swing on the swings and film while doing so. Just being there I could hear the laughter of children and imagine me and my friends running around playing tag at my school playground. I began to miss those days and I felt like I wanted to hang out with those friends right then.
